Technical information
When any website is visited, the hosting provider's servers record technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. Our host uses this to deliver the site securely and to detect abuse. We do not use it to identify or profile visitors.
Please do not include sensitive information in the free-text boxes. If you mention dietary or allergy needs for a future event, we will use that only to plan your enquiry.
Why we use it and our lawful basis
| Purpose | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Replying to your grazing interest and telling you when we begin taking event enquiries | Legitimate interests: responding to people who have asked to hear from us about their occasion. Where you are planning a private event, also steps taken at your request before a possible contract. |
| Replying to a partnership enquiry and arranging any engagement | Legitimate interests in running our business, and steps taken at your request before entering into a contract. |
| Sending occasional news about THE FOOD. | Your consent, given by ticking the optional box. You can withdraw it at any time. |
| Keeping the website secure and preventing spam | Legitimate interests in protecting our website and the people who use it. |
Submitting a form does not sign you up to marketing unless you tick the optional box. We will never sell your personal data.
Who processes your data for us
- Netlify, Inc. hosts this website and receives the forms you submit. Netlify is based in the United States. Transfers are protected by the safeguards in Netlify's data processing terms, which include the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
- Google provides the email account where we receive form notifications and reply to you. Google may process data in the United States under its own data processing terms and transfer safeguards.
These providers act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes. We may also share information with professional advisers, such as our accountant, or where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Grazing interest submissions: up to 24 months from the date you contact us, unless you become a client, in which case we keep what is needed for the booking and our records.
- Partnership enquiries: up to 24 months from the date you contact us. If an engagement follows, contract and invoice records are kept for six years for accounting and tax purposes.
- Marketing preferences: until you unsubscribe or ask us to stop, after which we keep a minimal record so that we do not contact you again.
Cookies and similar technologies
This website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising trackers or social media plugins, and it loads no fonts or scripts from other companies.
It uses your browser's session storage for two small things: remembering that you have already seen the opening sequence, and your sound on or off choice. This is stored only on your device, is not sent to us, and is deleted when you close the browser tab. It is used only to provide features you ask for, so no consent banner is needed. If we ever add analytics or other cookies, we will update this notice and ask for your consent first where the law requires it.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- ask us to delete your information
- ask us to restrict how we use it
- object to our use of your data based on legitimate interests
- withdraw your consent to marketing at any time
- ask for your data in a portable format, where this applies
To use any of these rights, email thefoodlondonamora@gmail.com. We will respond within one month. There is normally no charge.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, telephone 0303 123 1113.
Security
The website is served only over an encrypted HTTPS connection, forms are protected against spam, and access to submissions is limited to the company directors.
Children
This website and our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as THE FOOD. develops, for example when we begin taking event enquiries. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
